A few weeks back, I started up the In with the New Blogathon. The short and to the point description of it is for you guys out there in the blogosphere to create a post telling why a remake (or re-imagining) of your choosing is better than the original and use one of my banners. The original deadline is coming up this weekend and so far I've only one entry. Mine.
Let me tell ya, boys and girls, it's no fun playing by yourself. I mean, it can be if you find the right book, magazine, or website that suits your particular tastes, but this ain't that kind of party. We need some crowd participation for this one.
I know you all have busy lives and probably forgot about my poor li'l blogathon, So, to help us both out, I'm extending the deadline a couple more weeks.
The new deadline is Sunday February 8th, 2015.
Before then, I might create another entry or two of my own. Feel free to create one or two of your own.
I will create a post with links to all entries on Monday February 9th. To make sure you're on that list either leave your link in the comments below or in the comments on the original announcement of the blogathon, linked below.
Happy Blogging!
I'm so sorry Wendell! I will try and get this out ASAP! I know what it's like to play by yourself. My first blogathon ended the same way, with only my entry and one other (Josh). I actually was meaning to try and put this together today. Again, I'm so sorry I dropped the ball.
ReplyDeleteNo worries. I know we all have lots going on. Speaking of which I haven't checked into your request just yet. I'll do that this weekend.
DeleteI'm so sorry about this, man. With my classes going on and now essays coming up it has become a lot harder to find time for watching any movies at all (at least outside of the ones we are forced to watch in class) let alone write about them for my blog and participate in other people's blogathons. Part of the problem here might just be the timing, since you started this one at a really busy time for a lot of people. Based on my experience so far the summer is generally the best time to be running these things, at least that is when my most successful blogathons have happened (I've actually been wondering about revisiting The Gay on Film Blogathon around that time). If I somehow get lots of free time to contribute I'll post something, but I can't make any promises.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have an entry from you, but if not I understand. Thanks.
DeleteI didn't forget! My drafts are a fucking disaster right now. I know I have a reminder in there somewhere, so I'm glad you extended it.
ReplyDeleteNo problem. Can't wait to see the finished product.
DeleteMy "Remake Comparison Project" collaborator Priscilla and I will be participating, we just finished writing our article.
ReplyDelete- Cody
Thanks! Can't wait to read it.
DeleteHi Dell! Sorry man, I just read about this but maybe I or one of my contributors can participate. I'll let you know but it definitely help to have the deadline extended :D
ReplyDeleteAs it turns out, my friend Ted has did a post comparing original w/ the remakes and stating which version is the *winner.* http://flixchatter.net/2011/08/31/guest-post-comparing-five-hollywood-original-films-to-their-remakes-a-comparison-list/ I might re-post that article showing only the ones which the remakes are better. Would that work for you?
DeleteActually, that would work for me. Thanks!
DeleteI would love to participate in this....but, yeah, my life is in shambles, too. Let me go check out the original post....you know, just in case things start to look up, and I break my leg or something.
ReplyDeleteUm...break a leg? Just kidding. I'd love for you to get in on this, but no, don't break anything.
DeleteSaw it. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYay it's extended! I wanted to write it last weekend but didn't manage to....so I'm gonna really try this weekend :)
ReplyDeleteGreat! I really want to see what you come up with.
DeleteI'll definitely create a post for this blogathon. I love the subject!
ReplyDeleteCool! Can't wait to see it.
