What About the Razzies? (2015 Edition)

Oscar nominations were handed out and, as expected, the blogosphere went nuts with reaction. I get it. It's only what many of us have been waiting for since the second the Oscars ended last year? 1. I think the Redeemer award should go to Ben Affleck. He's the one that really found redemption and I hope he shows up and create a hilarious speech.

As for the others, give it to Saving Christmas just so that God can have a laugh and give Kirk Cameron the finger when Cameron takes a fall towards Hell.... *cackles*

    1. I'd definitely go with Affleck for the Redeemer. Your comments about Saving Christmas are truly hilarious. Thanks for the laugh!

  2. That's actually kind of nice of them to have a Redeemer award. I hope Saving Christmas wins them all too. Kirk Cameron is such a douche canoe.

    1. It is nice of them . Strangely nice. . Had no idea people hated Kirk Cameron so much, lol.

    2. I don't know anything about Cameron except that, apparently, he is a serious conservative Christian. Granted, that doesn't predispose me to like someone, but without more info., I reserve judgment. ;-)

    3. I knew he was serious about his faith, but not that he apparently rubs folks the wrong way.

  3. They really should just end these. The fact that they had The Interview on the short list and nominate Gibson, who I hear was great, is ridiculous. They are not even deserved, mostly, they are just spiteful.

    1. There is definitely an element of spite to them. Each year they pick out 6 ot 7 easy targets and give those movies almost all of the noms. I obviously don't mind these existing, bit I wish they would be more varied and honest with their noms.

Btw, whether or not Gibson was great kinda depends on what you think of The Expendables movies. I thought he gave a fun performance.

    2. I saw the first two for Statham but i heard even from people who didn't like that new one that Gibson was really good. I think the guy is awful but yeah nominating him if apparently he was good is not right. These awards are such a joke, I'm sure they are in tears over the fact they can't nominate poor Kristen Stewart again.

    3. Seeing how they have such a thing against her and Aniston (seem to nominate both every year), I'm actually proud of them for nominating both for the Redeemer award.

  4. The Razzies are kind of a guilty pleasure for me. :-) I haven't seen any of these movies, but skimming over the list of names and film titles, there are no real surprises here. I love the Razzies redeemer category! I'm guessing Affleck was redeemed by Gone Girl and Jennifer Aniston by Cake? I don't know anything about the others -- I should look it up. Kristen Stewart has gotten a lot of hate for her part in the Twilight franchise, but I thought she was good, as a child, in The Panic Room, so she must have some talent and dedication. It would be nice to see her career go into a positive direction. I wasn't a fan of Keanu Reeves until I saw him in The Gift, and WOW, he does have talent.

    1. It's a great category. I've heard positive things about Stewart in Still Alice. Haven't seen it though. I thought she was pretty good in The Runaways a couple years ago. I've got a love-hate relationship with Keanu Reeves. I generally hate his acting, but he's made a few of movies I love.

  5. I rarely pay attention to these, but I was kind of hoping to see Aniston nominated here after getting snubbed by Oscar...just for the irony.

    1. Her nomination this year is actually a pat on the back, though.

  6. Way to go Kristen Stewart, she was actually pretty good in Camp X-Ray (2014), which I just saw. I haven't seen her work in Still Alice.

Saving Christmas is ranked #1 on IMDb's bottom 100. Ouch... The director later responded to the low rating, claiming that it was due to "haters and atheists" who started a campaign on Reddit to purposely lower the film's ratings. Maybe there is some truth to that.

    1. Haven't seen either of Stewart's 2014 performances, but I've heard good things. So yeah, good for her. Hopefully, I'll get to see them soon.

As for Saving Christmas, you know about such things. I would hope that's not the case, but I wouldn't put it past the imdb crowd. After all, this is the same group that purposely knocked The Godfather out of the top spot and voted The Dark Knight into it (it's since fallen a bit).
