The 100 Project: Top 50 Movies of the 1990s

After having gone through every year of the 1990s and writing about every movie that made my top 10 in the year they were released, it was time to compile them into a top 50 for the decade. In case you don't remember, the goal of The 100 Project is to arrive at my top 100 movies of all-time. That will be easier to do with one list for each decade rather than trying to pull from what will be about 40 yearly lists when it's all said and done. However, I'm not going to make you read about them all over again. If you want to do that, click on the tab labeled The 100 Project (or the link at the bottom of this post) then click on the corresponding year. These are just a bunch of numbered pictures I'm passing off as...

  1. Wow... impressive. If I made my 90s list. It would be different. Only 2 films in the list I haven't seen... The Five Heartbeats and When We Were Kings (the latter in its entirety). I'm still planning to do a best of the 2010s list but that's likely to come in a few years because I want to do it right.

    1. Our differences is what makes it fun. Looking forward to what you come up with for the 2010s. I'm getting there, too.

  3. This is a great list but Sjawshank Redemption would be my #1 for me and I would not have Matrix on my list, my personal list but I k ow it is significant in film. I would add Bowfinger to this too and I like Dances With Wolves despite the issues. I would have to have Dracula on this list, 12 Monkeys, The Full Monty and The Birdcage which I find both very funny.

    1. I have nothing bad to say about any of those films, with one caveat. I haven't seen Dances with Wolves. All the rest you mention are very good.
